Contracts of Employment
Contracts of Employment are written for each employee taking into account their job requirements and the conditions under which you wish to employ them.
Where several employees are working under the same conditions, the Contract can become a “generic” contract reducing the work required.
Each Contract is provided in duplicate so that the employer keeps a copy.
Job Descriptions
Job Descriptions can be brief where the duties are easily described or complicated to take into account a wider set of responsibilities. Each Job Description is discussed with the employer and only issued once agreed. A short “summary” of the JD is included in the Contract.
Handbooks
A master Handbook is provided for each Employer, with each employee being allocated a copy.
The Handbook is tailored for each employee but all include the following An Introduction by the Managing Director or Owner A description of the Business provided by the Managing Director A copy of every Employment Policy used by the Business A copy of the contract Handbooks are updated regularly should there be changes to Employment Law or other Policy details
Employment Policies
The main list of Policies recommended for each firm are: Disciplinary Procedure Policy Grievance Procedure and Policy Equal Opportunities and Diversity Policy Sickness Absence Policy Health and Safety Policy The Avoidance of Lifting and Handling Policy Anti-Harassment Policy
Each policy is tailored to take into account the size of the Management Structure. Where there is a good “hierarchy” the Policies conform to wider National standards. Where the Management Team is small, the Policies take into account a need for potential external assessments to protect the interests of all partues.
Recruitment
Arrangements can be made to handle the recruitment of staff from initial Job Description to final Appointment.
Support can also be given where a “check service” can be asked for to ensure compliance with Advertising requirements, Equal Opportunities and other Employment laws.
Health and Safety
Health and Safety is an increasingly essential Management requirement. A Health and Safety Manual can be produced for each Business to take into account the basics of Health and Safety Legislation.
Training for Health and Safety can also be arranged.
Training
Training programmes can be organized for groups of staff or individuals. Training Programmes would normally be organised through local training establishments but special Training could be arranged in house.
Advice on any staff matter
There is an option within the Consultancy for a Business to take out an annual retainer of £100 for the first 5 employees and £150 for up to 10 employees which allows for telephone advice on any staff matter. Where an issue might take some time to resolve, this would then attract a day rate or pro rata day rate Consultancy fee which would be discussed with the Employer at the time.
Quarterly Newsletter for subscribers
A regular Newsletter from the Consultancy would keep Employers up-to-date on changes in Employment Law and would also contain advance notice of changes when possible.
